Under the supervision of the Graduate Student Professional Success Program Director, contributes to the establishment of coaching and programming infrastructures that support the career and professional development of Arts and Sciences graduate students and postdocs seeking non-academic careers. Leverages an array of career development tools and assessments as well as critical campus and external partnerships to deliver an optimal menu of services and career-building opportunities to their constituents. Helps graduate students and postdocs understand the unique value of their advanced Arts and Sciences degree. Develops, integrates, delivers, and evaluates consultation services and programming initiatives that support students and postdocs across all stages of career development. Establishes and continuously grows and scales individual coaching, cohort coaching, alumni mentoring initiatives, career exposure events, diversity-focused resources and initiatives, career conferences, and career readiness/skill-building courses. Supervises student, graduate, and/or professional staff who primarily support graduate student career development. Trains Career Coaches to enhance their coaching responsibilities to be mindful of all stages of adult career development from first year through graduate school, with special attention to the integration of graduate-level career guidance into coaching responsibilities and work. Regularly consults with Industry Connections team to ensure opportunities for graduate students are included in their talent acquisition strategies with employers and that graduate-level. Leads Center-wide efforts to intentionally integrate graduate-level career development, needs, and professional opportunities into the work of the Career Communities, Industry Connections, and Operations teams. Provides extensive administrative oversight of marketing and communications efforts as it relates to sharing relevant experiential, career-related, and/or industry-specific opportunities to the graduate student population and partners. Provides administrative oversight related to student Career Accelerator Fund awards and Career Success Grant awards for academic departments. Supports and sustains strong partnerships with Arts and Sciences faculty, staff, industry employers and alumni. 

Establishes and nurtures partnerships with campus offices and centers that support graduate student and postdoc career development (e.g., The Graduate School, Buckeye Careers, Ohio Union Activities Board, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, Imagined Futures, Michael V. Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning) 


Required: Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student development, career counseling, human resources, industrial organizational psychology, business administrations or an appropriate field in Arts and Sciences. Four years of relevant experience. Knowledge of occupational, career and job information resources, technology and materials pertaining to the preparation and career advancement of masters and PhD students in both academic and non-academic environments. Extensive knowledge of the associated labor market, employment trends and recruitment strategies. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  



Desired : Master’s degree in higher education, student development, career counseling, human resources, industrial organizational psychology, business administration or an appropriate field in Arts and Sciences. Understanding of student regulations and policies in the higher education environment. Demonstrated ability to interpret policies, procedures, and contracts. Knowledge of graduate student needs and national trends in serving this population.

The pay range for this job profile is $49,800.00 - $66,400.00. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
