Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

Verifies interlibrary loans Requests as a part of the Interlibrary Loan and GIL Express Department and performs numerous procedures associated with interlibrary lending and borrowing, interlibrary loans and GIL Express services for faculty, staff, and distance learning students.

Responsibilities

  • Greets individuals and general public.
  • Provides information pertaining to organization procedures and policies in Archives.
  • Interprets rules, policies and regulations in Archives.
  • Operates various office machines and maintains supply inventory for Archives.
  • Provides information and research services for archival requests.
  • Displays and publicizes archival and library exhibits and materials.
  • Updates SACS Documents and Archival Documents to digital format.
  • Receives archival materials from donors, preserves archival materials, and assist in records management of library records.
  • Coordinates and supervises work of student assistants.
  • Serves on departmental committees.
  • Assists patrons with general reference inquires.
  • Develops and implements goals related to the University¿s strategic plan, the Academic Affairs goals and library goals that are measurable and specific.
  • Shares evening/night and weekend duty with other library staff members.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements 
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and two years computer or customer service experience. A combination of training and experience will be accepted

Required Experience 

Must have the ability to type and operate personal computers is required.

Must be able to type 30 wpm correctly.

Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, and the general public.

Evening and weekend duties are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Provides backup for Circulation and Reference as needed.

Assists patrons with general reference inquires, Chat and Ask-A-Librarian and information literacy services.

Some Vocational or Technical training with some library experience

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook Express, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Access.

Knowledge of Internet and www; 

Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work collaboratively.

Proposed Salary

Salary range is from $23,373 to $31,000
