Assistant Director of Institutional Research

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, accounting, statistics, business administration or related fields from an accredited college or university. Three (3) years of experience in data analysis and/or data management.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to use Structured Query Language (SQL) and Survey Monkey software, experience in Banner software.

Duties and or Responsibilities: The Assistant Director of Institutional Research reports to the Director of Institutional Research and/or his/her designee and performs the following duties:

  • Supervises staff.
  • Assists with creating research surveys that are used campus-wide, based on user input. Tabulate, analyze and report survey results to the requesting department. The surveys are used for program reviews, specialized accreditations, campus assessments, and planning activities.
  • Assists in all aspects of General Education reporting. This includes creating the submission document each semester, distribution, subsequent collection, tabulating, analyzing, and reporting of General Education activities at the college.
  • Assists in all aspects of accreditation compliance reporting completed by this office. This includes creating the submission document each semester, distribution, subsequent collection, tabulating, analyzing, and reporting of accreditation compliance activities at the college.
  • Assists in developing data, reports, charts and text to respond to data requests, grant/contract development efforts or planning process needs.
  • Assists with data collection and submission for SUNY, State, and Federal periodic reporting.
  • Writes and executes SQL commands, downloads and formats SQL output on both administrative and microcomputer to query the various databases in use at the College and generate desired reports.
  • Attends meetings to facilitate accreditation, grant/contract development, planning efforts, and data collection/analysis/reporting at both the departmental and institutional level on a wide variety of college initiatives.
  • Provides technical consultation services to academic and administrative personnel involved in research efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

This is a full-time 37.5 hour work week position with a salary of $50,000.
