The Opportunity

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) seeks two full-time, 12-month, non-tenure earning research professors to contribute and enhance the research activity on current federal, state or contract-funded projects while collaborating on the development and submission of future grant applications. The position is assigned to the main Orlando campus with a projected start date of Fall 2024.

The successful candidates will strengthen and enhance existing and new research programs through the following:

  • development and submission of grant proposals to secure external funding for projects

  • design and development of research experiments

  • data analysis

  • interpretation

  • publication of scientific manuscripts

They also will play a key role in mentoring students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty, while contributing to the service mission of the school, college, institution, and profession.

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related discipline from an accredited institution at the time of application and at least a 10-year history of research productivity and federal funding commensurate with the rank of professor in the school.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A history of externally funded research, including federal and/or industry funding in the areas of hearing science, audiology, or auditory neuroscience. 
• History of collaboration with university, clinical, and industry research teams.
• Demonstrated record of research mentorship with junior faculty.
