About SUNY Broome Community College:

SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York.  The College has over 7,700 students annually, and services over 6,100 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs.  An additional 1,600 students are served through the College's workforce and non-credit programs.

 


Job Description:

SUNY Broome Community College has an immediate opening for a full-time Custodial Worker (1st Shift) with working hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.   Custodial Workers are required to clean buildings, maintain grounds, perform custodial related tasks, and assist with occasional minor maintenance tasks on first shift.  Skill in the proper use of cleaning and maintenance of equipment, chemicals, disinfecting methods, waste handling, the use of grounds maintenance tools and equipment, and personal protective equipment required.

 


Requirements:

This position is physically demanding with tasks that include lifting heavy objects, bending, climbing, reaching, repetitive motions, and related duties as required.  Thoroughness, dependability, the ability to get along with others, and the ability to understand oral and written communication are essential.

 


Additional Information:

The hourly rate for this position is $16.49.

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
