DESCRIPTION

The Tech Assistant provides technical, patient care and clerical support to technologists/radiologists by scheduling procedures, processing radiographs, transporting patients/preparing for radiographic procedures, preparing radiographs for interpretation, downloading outside CD's into the Picture Archival Computer System (PACS), operates film digitizing equipment, CD burners, document scanners and similar accessories. Demonstrates knowledge of computers and new technology such as PACS, Computerized Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiographs (DR).

Demonstrates knowledge of various imaging procedures to prepare patients and equipment. Contributes to the cost containment of maintaining established par levels with film orders, office supplies, forms, linen and other medical supplies. Contributes to and participates in work organization and scheduling selection, training and evaluation of staff as a member of work team. Participates in cross training to obtain seamless operations within the Imaging Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Three (3) years of experience in a similar role and setting.

  • Demonstrated experience required in a hospital Radiology Department setting.

  • Working knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).

  • Strong computer knowledge.

  • Quality control, Safety Control and/or Radioactive Waste experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hospital experience working in a Radiology Department.
  • Digital library experience.
  • Experience checking in patients for imaging procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $68,883 - $68,883 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.99 - $32.99

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
