Summary of Position

Reporting to and under the direction of the Child Welfare Education Partnership (CWEP) Course Development Administrator, this position is responsible for the development and support of online and hybrid courses, as well as the resource development that supports excellence in teaching and learning as required by the contract with the New Hampshire Division of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS).

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience (e.g. instructional technology, online education, adult learning, higher education) which includes at least 3 years of instructional design experience.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design theory and practice, particularly in relation to delivering online/hybrid courses to adult students.
  • Experience developing courses in Canvas or other similar learning management systems. Demonstrated ability to work with faculty from a variety of academic disciplines and technological skills.
  • Ability to master new technologies quickly.
  • Proficiency with multi-media software, interactive video production (i.e. Articulate Storyline, Rise, or Captivate).
  • Experience with web-conferencing tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Adobe Connect, Zoom or GoToMeeting), social media, mobile apps, Google Drive tools.
  • Knowledge of HTML and web design principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Work as a team with colleagues and stakeholders as well as independently when necessary. Excellent presentation, communications, problem-solving, interpersonal and organization skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in instructional design or closely related field.
  • Experience teaching/training adult learners.

Duty/Responsibility

  • Provide high quality instructional design guidance and support in creating or redesigning courses in online/hybrid format using established course templates to faculty.
  • Support faculty with diverse educational disciplines from DHHS/DCYF and the University, as well as from other partner institutions.
  • Provide effective support in a variety of formats including in person and at a distance (email, phone, live chat or webinar.).
  • Must take into consideration the unique expectations, policies and procedures of DHHS/DCYF and the University.
  • Manage course development process for assigned courses meeting tight deadlines.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to meet those deadlines.
  • Track the progress of each faculty/course and communicate with the hiring supervisor as needed.

Duty/Responsibility

  • Perform quality assessment on courses using established rubrics.
  • Consult with faculty as needed to identify improvements for their courses including resources, learning objects, activities, multi-media instructional assets and delivery techniques with attention to universal design principles.

Duty/Responsibility

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the CWEP and University’s Instructional Design team to research and recommend new tools, methodologies, processes and resources to support the work of faculty and the University in relation to online/blended courses and the learning management system.
  • Develop and deliver training for faculty on educational technologies and online pedagogy.
  • Topics are offered in in a variety of delivery formats including face-to-face, webinar, and online. Evaluate the training and make recommendations for improvements for future offerings.

Duty/Responsibility

  • Develop and manage documentation and resources in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video and interactive learning modules.
  • Manage and update content shared on websites for both faculty and students.
  • Serve on committees and/or task forces as needed. All other duties as assigned.
