Holyoke Community College is housed on a multi-million-dollar, 135-acre campus, equipped with state-of-the art technology in specialized learning facilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Gateway to College, Holyoke Community College this position works collaboratively with the Director and the Academic Coordinator to recruit students for the Gateway to College program.


 

 

  • Schedules and conducts Information Sessions on campus, in high schools, and over Zoom.
  • Establishes relationships with applicants and their families.
  • Establishes relationships with high school and district partners.
  • Establishes relationship with HCC offices including Admissions and Assessment.
  • Coaches and oversees all aspects of application process: HCC application, Gateway application, interview, college placement test, and tour of college.
  • Collects and manages applicant information on spreadsheets.
  • Collects high school documents for each applicant: transcript, IEP, etc.
  • Assists applicants with setting up HCC email, requesting bus passes, completing inquiry forms for OSD, etc.
  • Meets regularly with the Gateway to College team in order to facilitate the enrollment of students and to ensure strong student support.

 

 

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or other field related to area of assignment;
  • Five (5) months experience and/or training involving area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency with Google Suite;
  • Able to work independently and responsibly as well as part of a team;
  • Able to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, student body and professionals;
  • Excellent organizational skills.

PREFERRED:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Master’s degree in related discipline.

 

 

Part-Time, MCCC Unit position

Compensation: $32.00/hour; no benefits
Hours: 18.5 hours/week.; April 22 to July 22, 2024
Funding Source: Grant funded

  • All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. HCC is not sponsoring H1B Visa.
- Pre-Employment Background check, including Criminal History will be conducted for all positions.
