Position Summary:
 
The position supports the HCC Campus Libraries by managing, researching, and configuring the Integrated Library Systems (ILS) and databases, and functions as system administrator. The Manager works with librarians, library staff, and administrators who supervise libraries to provide district representation on library projects that have a college-wide impact and/or that are created to respond to external mandates. This position recommends changes to current processes and procedures to improve process efficiencies.
 
Job Duties:
 
  • Manages, researches, and configures the Integrated Library Systems (ILS) and databases, functioning as system administrator. Recommends changes to current processes and procedure to improve process efficiencies.
  • Works with librarians, library staff, and administrators who supervise libraries and serves as district serves librarian to provide district representation on library projects that have a college-wide impact and/or that are created to respond to external mandates.
  • Collects, performs statistical analyses upon, and disseminates library usage data.
  • Completes national library surveys in collaboration with the District Learning Resources Coordinator. Monitors the accuracy and timeliness of department data and processes.
  • Purchases library equipment, software, and general supplies as needed. Closely monitors budgets and makes budget decisions. Assists the campuses with research involving the purchase of technology needed to enhance library equipment and functions.
  • Supervises district library technical services staff and student assistants.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.
 

Minimum Qualifications: The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Library Sciences, Information Systems or a related field and at least two years of prior-related work experience.
