Postdoctoral Associate- Computer Science

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in any field.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Computer Science or closely related field. Previous experience in quantum information science, including but not limited to complexity theory, property testing, algorithms, sensing, and program analysis. Background knowledge in quantum information, algorithms and matrix analysis. Strong programming skills.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigators Supartha Podder and Nengkun Yu in the Stony Brook University Department of Computer Science . To assist with this research, Post-Doctorate should have deep background knowledge in quantum information, algorithms and matrix analysis. Strong programming skills are also preferred. A candidate primarily working in quantum information science, including but not limited to complexity theory, property testing, algorithms, sensing, and program analysis is desired.

The duties of the postdoctoral researcher will include conducting research, publishing papers, advising students, traveling to conferences, and participating in grant writings. They will be encouraged to have their own research agenda and to collaborate with the global quantum research community.

• Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research theory and experiments in the field of Computer Science.
• Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills to analyze the collected data.
• Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing.
• Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned may include attending Scientific Conferences and meetings.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
