Job Description
Minnesota State Community and Technical College is seeking a Vice President for Strategic Partnerships to begin on or before July 1, 2023.
M State is a regional student-focused institution that is poised for a strong future. Position Summary:
The Vice President for Strategic Partnerships is responsible for leadership, development and management of activities and services related to advancing the college. This leader will oversee business partnerships, marketing, fundraising and workforce training. The vice president leads all workforce training activities and marketing for the college and provides executive leadership for the college Foundation. The vice president participates in the President’s Cabinet, reports to and advises the President, and is responsible for outreach and liaison with alumni, business, charitable donors, media, legislative, governmental and community leaders.
Duties and Delegated Responsibility:
- Advancement/Fundraising-serve as a senior fundraising officer responsible for organization and management of all fundraising efforts, including annual fund, major gift campaigns, capital campaigns, development of endowments and planned giving. Responsible for implementing long range development goals, programs and procedures, in order to expand private support for M State.
- Recruiting, Marketing, Communication- work closely and collaboratively with the President and marketing teams to develop and implement an integrated, proactive, comprehensive, and consistent marketing and communication strategy and plan that enhances the brand, influence, reputation, and achievement of goals and aspirations of the college.
- Grants and College Engagement- develop and nurture collaborative relationships with key external audiences that will result in opportunities for grants and partnerships.
- Workforce Development Solutions- create a business plan to meet the workforce development needs of the communities of the region and to ensure that services are not duplicated.
- Supervisory Responsibilities- perform all aspects of supervisory functions for direct reports.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in business, marketing, public relations, communication, non-profit management, or a related area.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant leadership experience.

- Physical requirements:
- Travel is required, including overnight travel.
- Physical and psychological endurance to maintain a vigorous and robust daily schedule.
