Under the direction of Child Development Center management, the incumbent designs, plans and implements developmentally appropriate curriculum and program elements which promote the physical and intellectual growth of children (infant or toddler ages) in the Child Development Center. Provides learning opportunities for practicum students enrolled in the Early Education and Family Studies (EEFS) program, and in collaboration with faculty, guides and evaluates practicum student progress. Interacts on a regular basis with children, parents, EEFS program students and faculty, Child Development Center staff.
There are 2 positions available; one will be lead in the Infant Room and one will be lead in the Toddler Room.

- Must obtain First Aid Certificate and Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire.
- Must be enrolled in the Oregon Childcare Division Criminal History Registry before start date.
- These are Part-Time positions (.80 FTE). Schedule will be 40 Hours a week Fall, Winter & Spring. Hours To Be Determined.

- Experience in an NAEYC Accredited institution
- Experience mentoring adult learners
- Experience with RIE philosophy for infants and toddlers
- Demonstrated knowledge of anti-bias curriculum and commitment to social justice
- Demonstrated knowledge of the following:
- Current principles, practices and methods of early childhood education;
- General health and wellness of children
- Assessment and program evaluation techniques
- Contemporary office practices, procedures and equipment; recordkeeping techniques
- Demonstrated ability to implement age appropriate curriculum to foster growth and development
- Demonstrated ability administering effective child development center policies and procedures;
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
- Three years of early childhood classroom experience working as a lead teacher with demonstrated ability to plan and implement an effective children's program in a NAEYC accredited center.
|Starting Salary Expectations|
|The first two steps of the range are: $19.45 to $20.02 per hour. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.|
|Position Grade Salary Range|
|$19.45 to $30.75 Hourly Wage|

|Working Conditions and Physical Requirements|
|Work pressure, disturbances of work flow and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis. Changes in the performance environment require occasional upgrading of skills. Working conditions may be somewhat disagreeable requiring occasional exposure to safety hazards, noise and temperature extremes. Some learned physical skills are required. Physical effort such as frequent standing, walking and lifting; guiding and/or carrying of lightweight materials or equipment; occasional periods of sustained effort.|
