Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education


Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive land-grant system, with the main campus in Stillwater, a north-central Oklahoma community with a population of approximately 49,000. Located approximately 60 miles from the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas, the University has a diverse student body. Of OSU’s 22,500 students, approximately 21,700 are on the Stillwater campus, including almost 800 at the OSU-Tulsa campus, and the remaining students are enrolled at one of OSU’s three branch campuses: the Institute of Technology- Okmulgee; OSU-Oklahoma City; and the Center for Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa. The nine academic colleges located on the Stillwater campus include Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources; Arts and Sciences; Spears School of Business; Education, Health and Aviation; Engineering, Architecture and Technology; Global Studies and Partnerships; Honors College; Human Sciences; Graduate College; and Veterinary Health Sciences. Oklahoma State is a doctorate granting university with more than 100 undergraduate programs and 125 graduate programs.


This individual reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President and will serve as a member of the Academic Affairs administrative team by providing oversight to university-wide retention to graduation initiatives, academic and curricular matters, including new program and degree requests; student academic grievances; academic advising; initiatives to enhance the academic experience of students; and other duties requested by the Provost. The Vice Provost (VP) also oversees programs and services offered through the Offices of the University College, University College Advising/LASSO, Academic Services for Student-Athletes, University Assessment and Testing, Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research, and the Center for Sovereign Nations. The VP chairs the Instruction Council, Student Academic Services Directors Council, and other working groups as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate with a record of scholarly achievement; a minimum of two years of experience as an academic administrator at the college level or above at a comprehensive research university or the equivalent; a demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse groups of constituents and to communicate effectively both in writing and orally; a demonstrated commitment to enhancing the student experience at a comprehensive land-grant, research university; and a vision for the future of undergraduate education at OSU.
