: 

The Department of Psychology at the University of Houston announces 2 Open-Rank faculty positions to join its integrated program in Developmental, Cognitive, and Behavioral Neuroscience (DCBN) and/or its Clinical Psychology Program. These faculty members will be key in the evolution and continued success of the Texas Center for Learning Disabilities (TCLD; https://www.texasldcenter.org/ ), which was endowed with a $10M gift. The center is seeking to expand into a wider variety of neurodevelopmental disorders, which can include congenital (including genetic) or acquired conditions. The specific area of expertise and interest are open, but strong candidates will be oriented to interdisciplinary research relating etiology to phenotypic expression as assessed by neuroimaging, cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral features, including developmental outcomes and treatment response. Current faculty associated with TCLD include expertise in methodology, data sciences, learning and cognition, neuroimaging, genetics, and intervention. We encourage potential applications at all ranks, including Full Professors with a well-developed track record of interdisciplinary research; equal consideration will be given to candidates at other ranks with expertise and experience in interdisciplinary research on neurodevelopmental disorders.

Commitment to excellence in research is essential and the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an externally funded program of research in their chosen area and to direct graduate student and postdoctoral trainee research. Commitment to teaching is also required and individuals should be interested in and capable of offering courses in DCBN and/or Clinical Psychology in their topic areas and participate in the Department’s undergraduate teaching and mentoring programs.

Qualifications

: 

A doctorate in the discipline is required.  Applicants should demonstrate a clear commitment to excellence in the supervison of graduate research, and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Rank will be commensurate with the final candidate’s credentials and experience.
