JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Penn State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Neuromechanics Lab under the direction of Dr. Xiaogang Hu.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct research in neural rehabilitation and control of exoskeleton hand
  • Publish results in reputed journals; prepare reports; present research in conferences
  • Write proposals to funding agencies
  • Mentor PhD, MS, and undergraduate students

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ph.D. as of the hire date in biomedical electrical or mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience in signal acquisition and signal processing
  • Experience in working with robotic devices
  • Experience in working with human participants, especially clinical populations (e.g., individuals with a stroke)
  • Ability to work in a team with diverse backgrounds
