REGISTERED NURSE: Ambulatory Care Services (Domino Farms MEND Clinic)

Job Description

Responsibilities*

Provide nursing care and patient education as assigned to a diverse patient population in the Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes (MEND) clinic and Endocrine Testing Unit at Dominos Farms.

Participate as a member of the collaborative health care team, working closely with patients and their families. 

Provide telephone triage and management, patient education, direct patient care with assessment, and documentation.

Assist with patient flow as appropriate. 

Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel.

  • Hourly range for Registered Nurses (0-11 months experience) $33.58/hr
  • Hourly range for Registered Nurses (12+ months experience) $33.64-$52.08/hr
  • Evening Shift Differential- $2.55 per hour
  • Night Shift Differential- $3.40 per hour
  • Weekend Differential- $1.75 per hour

Required Qualifications*

Current licensure to practice as a RN in the State of Michigan. 

A minimum of three (3) years of RN experience in the past five (5) years providing direct nursing care to adult medicine patients   

Experience providing patient education 

A minimum of two (2) years experience providing care to adult patients whose primary diagnosis is Endocrine in nature including patients who have Diabetes Mellitus

Desired Qualifications*

Experience providing nursing care in an ambulatory care setting.

Experience providing telehealth nursing care.

Ceritified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification or willingness to obtain CDE within 2 years of employment

Work Schedule

Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift/Hours/Days: Day shift; Monday- Friday, 8-hour shifts with flexibility based on clinic operational needs.

Location: Domino's Farms MEND Clinic and Endocrine Testing Unit and other off-site locations where MEND has clinics.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
