LiftFund is a high impact non-profit, whose mission is to provide credit and services to small businesses and entrepreneurs who do not have access to loans from commercial sources and to provide leadership and innovation to the micro-lending industry. small business lender, based in San Antonio with operations in Texas (Austin, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, Houston, Laredo, McAllen), Louisiana (Baton Rouge, New Orleans) and the Delta Region. LiftFund is dedicated to increasing incomes and creating jobs in low-income communities by providing small business owners and entrepreneurs with access to credit and business support services not available from the commercial banking sector. We offer a “hand-up” to those striving to support themselves and their families through small business initiatives. Through our loans and services, we help entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses, stabilize, and increase their incomes, create additional employment, and contribute to the economic revitalization of their communities.

Reports to: Vice President of Advancement, in San Antonio, Texas

Position Summary: The Vice President of Community Engagement and Development will work in partnership with the development team and the North Texas Market leader to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, as well as manage a portfolio of individual investors. The candidate will also create fundraising strategies to increase individual support and provide the leadership, strategic direction, and coordination for all fundraising efforts for those regions.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years development experience or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership, ability to inspire collaboration among staff
  • Excellent oral, written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment and multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a donor/prospect management database
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully fundraise, develop partnerships, and coordinate special events
  • Ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects and assignments
  • Effective management skills
  • Ability to travel

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage fundraising strategy for LiftFund in the North Texas region
  • Conduct outreach to grow awareness of LiftFund in person and digitally
  • Work with North Texas market leader and team to develop philanthropic presence in the regions
  • Expand individual donor base
  • Identify prospective donors and cultivate, solicit, and steward major and annual donors
  • Coordinate special events to achieve fundraising goals
  • Coordinate with team and consultants as needed on all fundraising efforts
  • Create and manage fundraising strategies that will increase support from individuals
  • Oversee donor tracking and activity and evaluate along the way
  • Create LiftFund Advisory Boards with key leaders from each community; train and educate the Advisory Boards to increase fundraising strength and diversity
  • Create a strategic and long-range plan and execute major gift and annual fund drives
  • Secure donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations to achieve annual fundraising goal
  • Develop staff skills and expertise on the trends in philanthropy
  • Plan and host fundraising and awareness events
  • Achieve annual fundraising key progress indicators (KPI) each year
