Posting Summary
This position focuses on four main areas: (1) support for the research and dissemination function of the Community Leadership Center (CLC); (2) participate in the development of grant proposal; and (3) support the alumni unit for the LEAP Academy by managing the Scholarship Fund, tracking LEAP alumni’s progress through college and planning for support and engagement of LEAP alumni; (4) support in a leading role, the development and execution of special academic projects including conferences, university partnerships and joint ventures. Successful candidates will thrive on open collaboration and intellectual curiosity, will operate both independently and with a team, and will have a flexible approach to challenges in a fast-paced, creative and scholarly environment. Excellent qualitative and quantitative skills and proficiency with data programs, and research design for applied areas such as Birth-12 educational pipeline development, urban community development, youth and child development, among others.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement

Rutgers University requires all new employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the employee a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of a vaccine approved or authorized for emergency use in the United States or a vaccine that has been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization. Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required in a social science or education field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Hands-on experience with research or evaluation design, data collection, and analysis 
 
Qualitative data analysis and/or quantitative data analysis experience 
 
Strong statistical analysis ability, written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. 
 
Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
 
 Ability to prioritize tasks and organize information for multiple simultaneous projects, relying on your own resources and initiative 
 
Highly organized, efficient, and extremely detail-oriented 
 
Ability to work independently and know when to seek assistance 
 
Proficiency in budget preparation and management
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD/ABD in a related field preferred.
Equipment Utilized
Knowledge of computers and related software such as web-based surveys and qualitative research packages is also required. 
 
Ability to work productively with Microsoft Office products, including Power POint, Excell and Word. 
 
Proficiency in qualitative (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti) and/or quantitative (e.g., Stata, SAS) data analysis software (NVivo and/or Stata highly preferred)
