Job Summary Portland Community College seeks part time and on-call Reference Librarians for Cascade, Rock Creek and Sylvania campuses. 


Salary will be on an hourly basis at the adjunct librarian rate of $41.48 per hour, maximum 24 hours per week, with some professional development hours at the special projects rate of $29.48 per hour. Pay rates are subject to contract negotiations.

This position is included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees. Employment in this position will require, as a condition of employment, payment of monthly union dues or a monthly fair share fee in lieu of dues through automatic payroll deduction. Portland Community College will hire only United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States. All new employees will be required to complete the designated Immigration Service Employers Verification I-9 form.  
Responsibilities/Duties Provides reference services to students, faculty, and community users in a highly networked environment. 

Develops and implements library instruction including web-based materials, collection development in all formats.  
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution required.  
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICIATIONS: 

Reference desk experience, at least six months part-time; teaching experience or equivalent, at least six months part-time. Reference and information literacy instruction experience at a Community College or equivalent.
