Position Summary Information

 

Job Summary

Keuka College is currently seeking adjunct instructors to teach at our various locations throughout China. These courses typically run eight weeks with opportunities to teach additional classes. Quality teaching is a top priority of the College, and we thus seek enthusiastic, experienced teachers. Qualified candidates will have expertise and teaching experience in one or preferably more than one of the following functional disciplines: general business, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources management, strategic management, economics, statistics or business law. Currently we are giving priority to candidates that can teach accounting and finance.

General Responsibilities

All instructors must teach all assigned classes and hours as determined by the course schedule; plan for instructional activities to include, but not limited to, lecture, class discussion and other various projects as assigned; submit and maintain accurate records of attendance and grades; provide a classroom environment conducive to learning and actively engage students; work with the Dean to ensure instructional and program quality to assure course content and objectives are met; adhere to College policies and procedures in all matters concerning academics and student and staff conduct.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus
  • Follow outline provided, to assure course content and objectives are met
  • Design, administer, and grade essays and examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus
  • Plan effectively for classes and student success
  • Actively engage students in the learning process
Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Minimum of a Masters degree (Doctorate preferred) in an appropriate discipline specific field with appropriate related professional background
  2. Experience with Course and Learning Management Software in support of online coursework
  3. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for ambiguity
  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, with diverse groups of people
  5. Experience in an international setting preferred
  6. Classroom experience teaching undergraduate students in a traditional program
  7. Must have a valid passport
