Remarks: Being hired into the regular part-time instructor pool is not a guarantee of employment. Classes are assigned on an as-needed basis. Position Type: Faculty Duties and Responsibilities: - Teach one or more courses, at assigned campuses. - Conduct one (1) office hour per week for each course taught at the campus where the class is held. - Meet administrative deadlines and requests for student data as assigned by the department or the institute. - Attend one department meeting per term. - Other related duties as assigned. - To ensure compliance with federal and college requirements some mandatory training must be completed for this position. Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in early childhood, family studies or related discipline from an accredited institution (must be conferred before beginning instruction) or a Master's degree in education may be considered in combination with a Bachelor's degree in early childhood. - 3 years of early childhood education teaching experience. - Ability to relate to and instruct a non-traditional, diverse student population. Preferences: - A Master's degree in early childhood. - 45-Hour entry level course facilitator. - Recent experience of college instruction in lower division education. - Holds a New Mexico Level II teaching license or has a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field. - Experience working in early childhood centers and/or preschools in the Albuquerque area. - Demonstrated working knowledge of current issues, trends, and developments in education instruction. - Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of teaching methods including lecture, discussion, collaborative learning and individualized instruction. - Demonstrated ability to relate and explain complex subject matter to first- and second-year college students. - Experience teaching online courses. Work Schedule:: As assigned based on term schedules. Day and Evening availability.
