Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is under general supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, evaluates physical condition and treats student athletes to maintain maximum physical fitness
for participation in athletic competition. Evaluates, treats, and rehabilitates injuries, conditions, and related disabilities to maintain student athlete performance. Provide first aide for athletic injuries. The Assistant Athletic Trainer may design customized individual training programs.
 Provide athletic training services for the athletic department as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physician (s), including attendance at scheduled team practices, home and away competitions.
 Operates therapeutic devices and equipment; fits braces, guards, and other similar devices. Tape and Wrap joints as needed for athletes.
 Administers first aid to injured players such as giving artificial respiration, cleaning and bandaging wounds, and applying heat and cold to promote healing.
 Assists Head Athletic Trainer in the daily management of training room, storing and monitoring supplies and equipment.
 Refer seriously injured athletes to a physician.
 Supervises safety factors of athletic competition by ensuring elimination of undue hazards.
 May assist injured athletes in completing and submitting insurance claims.
 May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.
 Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: REGUIRED: Bachelor's degree and must be currently NATA Board Certified and maintain certification. Must be currently licensed by the MS State
Department of Health and maintain licensure.
