Job Summary

The job involves working with a highly motivated, collaborative, and multidisciplinary research group involved in clinical, health services, epidemiological, disease surveillance and implementation science research using health systems and community-level data. The team is based in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigans Medical School, Michigan Medicine and the Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center (KECC). The latter is a multidisciplinary research center, at the University of Michigans School of Public health, and is affiliated with the Institute of Health Policy and Innovation (IHPI) and University of Michigan's School of Medicine.

The main areas of focus are kidney disease surveillance and prevention at regional, national, and international levels, as well as implementation science, learning systems, pharmacoepidemiology and quality improvement. The team has a rapidly evolving portfolio in prevention of non-communicable disease and global health.

Responsibilities*

The candidate will serve as statistical analyst working in close partnership with other programmers and analysts at KECC, mentored by the lead programmer/analyst and under the overall supervision of the Principal Investigator. The candidate will work with large and complex data sets typically employed based on project needs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Department of Veterans Health Administration, Optum, NHANES, and other data sources as needed). The candidate will mainly work with data sets prepared for analyses but may help with programming as needed to ensure standards of the data structures. The candidate will help with study design, grant submissions, and the team's development of Project Reports and other Deliverables. As required, they will also help explore new data sources as appropriate for the project(s) and assist the PI and Team in understanding them for their potential value. Other duties as assigned or required for the research project.

Background Screening
