What we want

The Assistant Athletics Director for Branding, Digital and Social is responsible for the Athletics Department's overall branding product, digital presence, and social media channels.  This position will lead a team of graphic designers, photographers, and social media experts to effectively build the Texas A&M Athletics brand through engaging content and strategic use of the department's digital and social assets.  The position will execute design, layout, and final art production of visual communications projects, including but not limited to: branding and identities for NCAA sports teams, brochures, advertising (tv, radio, print, outdoor and web), event collateral, photography, illustrations, toolkits, presentation materials, and athletic facility signage. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four years of social, branding, and/or digital experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Is creative and imaginative
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
  • Knowledge of using analytics to inform business decisions
  • Oral and written communication skills

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

  • Position will require work on nights, weekends, and holidays to fulfill assigned duties

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA and SEC Conference rules and regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Content - COversees the concept, design, and implementation of new content (graphics, video, GIFs, motion graphics, etc.) that engages the Aggie fan base. Executes the design, layout, and final art production of visual communications projects, including but not limited to: branding and identities for NCAA sports teams, brochures, advertising (tv, radio, print, outdoor and web), event collateral, photography, illustrations, toolkits, presentation materials, and athletic facility signage.
  • Social Media Channel Management - Defines and oversees the implementation of a consistent social media strategy and voice for A&M Athletics, as well as educate the department on social media best practices.
  • Digital Asset Management - Launches a new Texas A&M Athletics mobile application and ensures 12thman.com (and other owned online assets) are on brand and delivering on our mission to grow the Aggie fan base.
  • Leadership - Provides leadership and management of new branding, digital, social department (7 FTEs). Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised. Responsible for the Athletics Department's overall branding product, digital presence, and social media channels. Leads a team of graphic designers, photographers, and social media experts to effectively build the Texas A&M Athletics brand through engaging content and strategic use of the department's digital and social assets. Serves as liaison between the department and university administration.
  • Compliance -Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Southeastern Conference, and Texas A&M University rules and regulations. Works to establish and ensure communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.  Compliance is a shared responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
