Position Description:

The Corbin and Haydar laboratories have a joint T32 NIH IDDRC training grant funded postdoctoral fellowship opening for in vivo/ex vivo electrophysiologist to use state of the of the art tools to interrogate brain development in relation to intellectual disabilities.  This NIH IDDRC supported training program will consist of a formal mentoring plan to develop and support the candidate for independence, including submission of a K award.  The Corbin and Haydar labs bring 50+ combined years of highly productive research experience on brain development and developmental disabilities, with an extensive track record of high-profile publications and placement of previous postdoctoral trainees in independent academic and non-academic careers.  The recruit will join a collegial, dynamic and highly collaborative environment in The Center for Neuroscience Research at Children’s National in Washington, DC.  The Center for Neuroscience Research is further supported by outstanding core and shared facilities such as state of the art microscopy including in vivo and 3D imaging, genomics and animal behavior cores.  Applicants must be US citizens or green card holders.  We also highly encourage applications from underrepresented minorities.


Qualifications:

PhD in neuroscience or related field. Experience with rodent ex vivo or in vivo electrophysiology required.
