Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership in the areas of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice.
  • Develop, implement, monitor progress, and recommend adjustments in connection with the Strategic Plan for Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Social Justice. The Plan provides the strategic framework through which the Coordinator can build the Y’s infrastructure for meaningful inclusion of all its community members.
  • Serve as a member of the Equity Team/Committee.
  • Serve on any Diversity committees formed by Association.
  • In collaboration with the CHRO, improve effectiveness and success in recruiting and retaining diverse staff. Assist toward the goal of achieving greater diversity in the Y’s staff reflecting the communities they serve.
  • Serve as a resource for the Y with respect to curriculum design and staff support. Specifically, the Coordinator will promote, advise upon, and support curriculum development aimed at teaching and learning to think critically about cultural diversity.

Leadership/Management Responsibilities:

  • Participate in association committees and projects including, but not limited to, Special Events, Fundraisers, and any other activities requested by the CEO and/or CHRO.
  • Conveys a professional attitude and lead staff by being a positive role model that is committed to diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice.
  • Attends all Branch and Association meetings that pertain to job responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years proven experience in diversity, inclusion, equity and social justice.
  • Project management skills in implementing complex programs, supervising personnel, and
    developing and handling a budget
  • Proven success working collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community.
    leaders
  • Commitment to diversity and a strong interest in planning multicultural programming
  • Successful track record managing cross-discipline teams.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks by volume,
    urgency, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-Lingual Skills
