The Assistant Dean for Assessment and Academic Planning is responsible for all aspects of assessment and support of academic planning in undergraduate, professional and graduate education within the School of Pharmacy (SOP). Primary work consists of coordination of learner assessment and program evaluation, including accreditation, as well as providing support in academic program planning. The Assistant Dean will provide leadership in fostering a culture of evidence based support of learning and quality improvement. The Assistant Dean is responsible to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the assessment and evaluation of academic programs in the SOP.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Applicants for this position must have a PhD with an emphasis in educational administration, educational psychology, or applied social science research.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

REQUIRED
Minimum of 2 years of experience in university education working closely with faculty at a local, regional, and national level on assessment and evaluation in higher education is required. Must have experience in revising and creating new academic programs.

PREFERRED
Preferred experience includes an expertise in: workplace-based assessments, including developing or testing assessment tools and strategies, and scholarly work in the area; managing databases and utilizing large data sets. Experience and familiarity with UW-Madison academic planning policies is a plus.
