This is an exciting and opportune time for a transformative leader to drive the future of education by building and strengthening partnerships internally and externally, optimizing program offerings for an evolving world, and planning for tomorrow’s opportunities to maximize every learner’s blended experience – digital, in-personexperiential, and social.
Since opening its doors in 1968, with just over 2,000 students, George Brown College has grown to welcome more than 30,000 full-time students and over 64,500 continuing education registrants annually from across the Greater Toronto Area and Canada, and around the world. Through its international partnerships and commitment to strengthening the cultural, economic and social fabric of Toronto, George Brown is helping students develop the skills and gain the real-world experience they need to succeed in the workplace.
Guided by a long-term Vision 2030/Strategy 2022, George Brown College envisions a future of exciting possibilities as it prepares students for a world of constant change – as economic transformations, climate change, urbanization, global health events, and disruptive technologies continue to shake up established industries. As the College’s new President, you will support this vision while advancing its mission of excellence in teaching, experiential learning, research and innovation. https://www.georgebrown.ca/media/3281/view
Reporting to the Board of Governors, and working in collaboration with the Senior Management Team, you will lead and direct all efforts of the College, including optimizing student experiences and outcomes, strategic planning, democratization of learning, talent development, funding, partnerships, creation of an equitable and inclusive environment, and continuous leadership as a research, innovation and leadership college. You will lead the evaluation process to maximize program offerings to prepare learners for the future of work, identify key priorities and prepare a clear path forward on the strategic plan, and gain the confidence of staff while focusing on student satisfaction.
A driver of change and transformation, and an enabler of technology (i.e. digitization, online learning), you welcome the opportunity to create new programming, expand the student market in education, and invest in infrastructure, while putting in place a strong digital strategy. Leading by example, you will champion equity, diversity and inclusion, enhance digital learning, and promote forward-thinking strategies regarding digitization, online and hybrid plans. Improved collaboration across the organization will be a hallmark of your presidency, together with enhanced professional development opportunities for employees, and new ways to address diversified learning needs of multiple generations.
Your success as President will be measured in part by your ability to maintain or, better yet, increase enrollment, build strong relationships and enhance the trust between the executive team and deans, management and the unions.
