Advising Communications Specialist

Job Description

ADVISING COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC), to work with UAC staff to develop and implement all internal and external communications, including website, newsletter, branding materials, and social media. In this newly created role, will help to shape and execute the communications strategy for the UAC, and advise a caseload of both first-year and upper-level undergraduate students.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least one year of relevant communications experience; excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills; comprehensive knowledge of digital communications platforms and experience working with web platforms (specifically WordPress), graphic design programs (Canva or Adobe), email management systems (MailChimp), and social media (LinkedIn, Instagram); high-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); initiative; flexibility; meticulous attention to detail; and discretion and sound judgment with sensitive information.  Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and meet competing deadlines; work with undergraduate students; function independently and collaborate seamlessly across all organizational units in a fast-paced, team-oriented, ever-changing environment; and adapt to and integrate constructive feedback.  PREFERRED:  master’s degree.  Job #24057-6

Hiring range: $55,000 – 65,000

This is a full-time, hybrid position with occasional evenings and weekends.
