Adjunct Faculty: Sociology
NHTI-Concord’s Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in teaching at the college on a course-by-course basis.
Semester: Spring, Fall, and Summer
The instructor will be responsible for preparing and teaching the following course:
Introduction to Sociology
Course Number: SOCI 105C
Lecture Hours: 3
Lab, Clinic or Practicum Hours: 0
Credit Hours: 3
This course introduces the concepts, principles, and applications of the social science method in general and of sociology in particular, including a review of some of the crucial sociological problems of today, involving the relationship of the individual to society and groups of individuals to one another. Some topics included are culture, race, gender, class, social mobility, health, and social change. Historical and economic forces in the U.S. will also be examined in relation to sociological concepts.
Requirements: Master’s degree in sociology (or a subject/content area closely related with a minimum of 12 graduate-level credits in sociology) required. Availability to teach on campus in Concord, NH, preferred; online teaching experience is a plus. Residency in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT required. (Relocation expenses will not be reimbursed.)
Pay rate is $750-$900 per contact hour.
