Job Title: Vice President, Development and Affiliate Services

Position Summary: The Vice President will oversee resource development and the National Affiliate Network and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fundraising initiatives. In partnership with the President and CEO, the VP will design, lead, and implement a sustainable development strategy to increase philanthropic revenue from a diverse portfolio of national supporters in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. This VP will develop partnerships and procedures for accomplishing goals and objectives throughout the country, ensuring that financial resources that sustain and allow for the deepening of its impact and for organizational growth.

The ideal candidate will effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably, has the willingness to evaluate and take calculated risks, can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty, is not upset by unresolved issues and the ability to measure performance, and demonstrate an overall drive to build lasting sustainable success for the TAA.

Fundraising and Partnerships

  • Develop a fundraising strategy and lead implementation; establish strong relationships with individual, corporate and foundation existing and potential donors; and develop new funding sources.
  • Together with the President CEO, develop and implement a Development Plan that supports the operational plans for the organization.
  • Ensure the effective stewardship of all existing and potential donors, acknowledging donations, maintaining communications, and completing required reports in a timely and professional manner.
  • Create partnerships with organizations throughout the country, on behalf of individuals with TS or other Tic Disorders and their families, which support the mission and values of TAA and add value to both state and local level operations.
  • Actively manage the TAA Chapter network and their volunteer staff to ensure development and membership strategies are aligned with policies, procedures, and future directions of the Chapter Network.
  • Meet or exceed the assigned annual financial goals by channel.
  • Work with the Leadership Team to identify potential local, state, and federal funding opportunities.
  • Manage the infrastructure needed to sustain and grow our budget through corporate partners, major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, affinity groups, and sponsorships.
  • Expand and diversify donor base/pipeline and work closely with other team members to secure funding.
  • The VP, Dev will work in partnership with the VP, Finance and CEO to establish revenue and expense budgets.
  • Work with the marketing & communications team to create development materials, tools, and other necessary collateral supporting major gifts, grants, planned giving, campaigns, events, and other efforts

Dual Responsibility for National Fundraising Performance and Assigned Chapter and/or Region Performance

  • Build effective relationships with the TAA local affiliates and potential expansion communities to expand the nationwide impact.
  • Delivery of overall targets/goals of chapters. This includes strategic and operational management/oversight of reporting chapter(s), including the effective delivery of services; meeting fundraising, revenue, and expense targets; compliance with corporate governance, policies and governmental regulations.
  • Provide oversight and technical guidance to local chapter leadership.
  • Identify and cultivate affiliate partners to expand Chapter 2.0 initiative.
  • Other duties as assigned commiserate with being a senior leader in the organization.

Workforce Management

  • Hires, manages, and evaluates any regional directors/staff. This is carried out in collaboration and consultation with local chapter boards.
  • Provides regional oversight and support of EDs within the Region. Identifies opportunities for sharing knowledge and resources between regional groups and provides access to best practices and training opportunities available through national headquarters.
  • Increases community awareness, participation, and commitment. Builds regional capacity for service delivery through engagement and retention of volunteers and partners.
  • Treats all clients, volunteers, guests, and other employees in a courteous and respectful manner at all times while maintaining a cooperative atmosphere for all. It is expected that each member of the regional management team will work with a volunteer counterpart to ensure depth within the function and that key volunteers are utilized.
  • Motivate, coach, and manage the Development team to support team members’ goal attainment and ongoing professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 7 years overall professional experience, including a minimum of five years in public administration, education, development, social services, non-profits, or a related field.
  • Experience demonstrating the progression of fundraising performance in nonprofit development and supervisory roles. Demonstrated success in raising $10M+ annually.
  • Proven track record of creating and executing effective fundraising strategies for diverse revenue streams, with success in soliciting and closing 6 and 7-figure gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Able to effectively deliver results in complex environment
  • Acts with integrity; settles rather than creates conflict.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of people with TS and other Tic Disorders.
  • Team player with a commitment to professional development for both national and affiliate staff.
  • Demonstrates willingness to make commitments based on information known at the time; delivers on commitments; models a can-do attitude and takes initiative; is a self-starter; inspires and motivates others to do the same.
  • Strong relationship-builder with a proven ability to proactively adapt when establishing partnerships and securing significant resources from foundations, corporations, individuals, events, and public entities.
  • Organized, with experience in strategic and operational planning and budgeting.
  • Ability to travel throughout the country on a regular basis.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, CFRE or master’s degree in a relevant field of study preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $140,000.00 per year
