Full job description

This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure track, bargaining unit position that reports to the Dean of Arts & Sciences and is located on the main JWCC campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins Fall semester 2024.


JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for teaching 15 credit hours per semester, which may include classes during the day or evening. Classes may be in an in-person setting at any JWCC center, hybrid, or online. Courses will include Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Sociology and other psychology and sociology courses dependent on varying enrollment needs of the college and department. Responsibilities may include course development and course updates.

Requires a willingness to be involved in activities including professional development, committee membership, curriculum review, academic assessment, and participation in systematic planning for program evaluation.


QUALIFICATIONS

A Master's degree in Psychology OR a Master's degree in Sociology with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the other discipline. Candidate will be credentialed to teach both psychology and sociology courses. Community college teaching experience as well as experience in teaching through multiple delivery methods preferred. Recent and relevant work experience is preferred. The successful candidate must be fully credentialed per Higher Learning Commission and Illinois Community College Board standards upon the date of hire.


SALARY

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
