Job Description:
Work with development team and test engineers in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver product. Interact constantly with team and external stakeholders to ensure high value and high-quality delivery. Build analytics and UI tools to provide utility customers with actionable insights using data from meters and other IoT devices. Execute performance testing of code and write unit tests. Understand business objectives linked to the development and application of technology. Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues through effective communication, knowledge, and experience inside and outside the department. Write code to fulfill acceptance criteria of user stories or fix bugs adhering to coding and testing standards, including data loading and manipulation, data analysis, and data display. Review and test own code and others' code. Estimate scope of work and develop plans for how to achieve business goals through additions or changes to the software product. Supports new product development including design, analysis, and testing. Communicates with internal key stakeholders to understand technical requirements. Completes technical tasks and deliverables within set timeline. Authors technical documentation and follows standardized processes and procedures. Position is fixed based in San Diego, CA office; However, telecommuting from a home office location up to four (4) days per week is allowed.
Job Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience in an engineering role or related occupation.
Must have two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Experience with SQL, including queries, stored procedures, and indexing
- Experience using C#.NET to design, develop, and test applications
- Experience working with an electric, gas, or water utility
Must have one (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Experience in Agile and Scrum
- Experience in SQL Server development
- Experience in a customer facing role, including project management, requirement gathering, or providing end-user training
- Experience using data visualization tools, including Tableau and Power BI
- Experience managing SaaS software deployments
- Experience working with customers and understanding their business challenges
- Experience with C#, Python, JavaScript, HTML, or R
- Experience with analytic and data science methods
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary: $120,000 - $130,000/year.
