General Summary

The Graphic Design Specialist position is a part-time professional position. The Graphic Design Specialist reports directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, but works in close coordination with all members of the Odessa College Marketing and Communications Department team.


Specific Position Duties

Works closely with the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and the Director of Media Relations in determining the scope of work and the production timeline necessary for producing marketing and public relations/media release materials; Manages and coordinates the design and production of graphical materials for the key marketing interfaces and platforms (Digital Signage, Website, Wrangler Vision, Print, Digital, Social Media, Photography/Videography, and Electronic Mass Media) used by the Odessa College Marketing and Communications Department; Manages workflow and production of Creative Services Requests received from the various departments and divisions of Odessa College; Monitors style and brand standards for all creative services projects. Makes content and graphical updates to the OC website, and coordinates similar updates on the outdoor digital signage and Wrangler Vision screens, to ensure that fresh and current marketing and/or promotional messages are displayed in a cohesive, timely manner; Coordinates with printers and contracted vendors to ensure timely delivery and high quality of materials produced. Maintains a working knowledge of current, new and emerging technology as related to marketing, communications and media tools, in order to positively impact the overall efforts of the Odessa College Marketing and Communications Department; Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate of Arts (AA) degree or demonstrated professional experience. Well-developed written and oral communication and organizational skills; Strong computer skills with specific emphasis in software programs such as: Adobe Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office. Understand requirements of pre-press production and printing technologies; Working knowledge of final print production; Willingness to work a flexible schedule; Must be a self-starter who is also capable of working as an integral part of the Marketing Communications team.
