Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

This position provides direct management of the business functions and financial operations for the Department of Art. Responsibilities include budget management, payroll, strategic planning, reconciliation, travel, foundation accounts, compliance with reporting requirements, and serving as a department contact for the implementation of Workday Finance & HCM. The position serves as a financial and administrative advisor to the Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: 
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a business-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:
  • Four years of experience in budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, and personnel.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in summarizing, analyzing, and reporting financial information.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Experience using University of Maryland College Park business systems, including KFS, PHR, BPM, Priority/BA’s, TCMS, and PCMS.
  • Experience managing Financial information and services in an academic /higher education setting. Experience managing foundation accounts.
  • Experience in arts-related departments, units, or organizations.
  • Experience managing the delivery of procurement and travel services.
  • Experience managing inventory and the maintenance of equipment, tools, and technology in tech-oriented department studios.

Additional Information:

Salary: $70k-$75K, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship is offered for this position.

This is an in-person position. Telework may be available up to two (2) days per week, subject to approval.
