DESCRIPTION

The Rectal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team Nurse Coordinator is responsible for all activities associated with rectal cancer patient care: physician/team compliance, data management/integrity, standards evaluation/compliance and working with patents and family members. Coordinates the clinical logistics of rectal cancer care and works in tandem with the Rectal Cancer Program Director as well as physicians and nurses who provide hands-on clinical care to patients. Applies clinical nursing background and data management knowledge to serve as liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and patients. Serves as a resource and mentor to the nursing staff by providing guidance, instruction, training, work-review and leading staff regarding best practices for rectal cancer care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

  • RN License issued by the State of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Minimum two (2) years of oncology experience required.

  • Care Coordination experience and experience providing educational services to patients and families regarding current clinical condition and or disease process.

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

  • Must have current knowledge of chemotherapy protocols.

  • Must have strong knowledge of cancer care, diagnosis, and treatment.

  • Must have the ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies.

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

  • Must have positive communication and telephone skills and positive stress management and coping skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN

  • Outpatient experience.

  • Surgical oncology experience.

  • OCN/BMTCN certification.

  • Telephonic Nursing experience.

  • Performance and quality improvement experience.

  • Epic Experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work with terminally ill patients.
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, and various locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII or CNIV level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
