Position Summary

As a driver in our Visitor Services department, you’ll be a front-line ambassador, welcoming and transporting visitors to explore the Clark’s world-renowned collection. Drivers are a fundamental component of our Institute and assist all of our stakeholders by providing access to and from our campus. Responsibilities include transporting guests and staff, providing a welcoming environment on the bus by focusing on hospitality, wayfinding, and information. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and exceptional people skills are essential qualifications.

Candidates with the greatest availability will be given preference. This position requires working weekends and holidays.

Minimum Starting Rate: $20.00/hour

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
 

  • Transport staff and visitors to and from predetermined locations on a pre-established schedule.
  • Provide on-call transportation as needed.
  • Make stops at designated locations to pick up and let off passengers.
  • Assist passengers as needed with embarking and disembarking.
  • Inspect shuttle to ensure that it is in a clean and operable condition.
  • Answer questions and provide information as needed in a polite and gracious manner.
  • Communicate with and update supervisors regularly.
  • Recording of data for tracking and trending.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training, and Skills
 

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 5 years’ clean driving record.
  • Proof of insurance.
  • Completion of high school or equivalent required.


Work Experience
 

  • Minimum 5 years’ driving experience required.



Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Physical Demands: Minimal physical exertion required, including the ability to work sitting for between four and eight hours a day driving a shuttle/van in all weather conditions and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Provide varying degrees of assistance in close proximity to passengers who require additional assistance to board.


Work Environment: Work will be performed primarily in a vehicle transporting staff and visitors to and from pre-established locations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Might be exposed to sounds and noises that are distracting.
