Implements and optimizes computerized database systems supporting daily organizational and customer functions.
• Maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases.
• Reviews database design and system integration, offering backup recovery and enhancement recommendations.
• Ensures security and integrity controls of databases.
• Formulates database management policies, procedures, and standards; monitors transaction activity and utilization.
• Develops stored procedures and/or triggers as needed.
• Administers various database systems, including Microsoft SQL Server and other DBMS.
• Establishes and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures.
• Audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.
• Oversees scheduling of database projects, backups, notifications, and replication between SQL Servers and remote sites.
• Assists in the development of SQL and web-based databases and systems.
• Reviews technical designs, reports, and documentation produced by staff.
• Creates and maintains high-level reporting systems using tools like Crystal Reports.
• Researches and implements new database and online technology.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience or a High School Diploma and 12 years of experience.
• US Citizenship or Green Card Holder
• Ability to provide all levels of database support, including off-hours support on a rotating basis.
• Strong communication skills to discuss requirements with customers and clarify as needed.
• Experience in formulating database management policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ability to estimate effort required for project delivery based on high-level designs or plans.
• Proficient in working collaboratively with a team to produce technical proposals, reports, and documentation.
• Recent operational support experience with MS SQL Server versions 2012 and above.
• Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Experience in database backups, restores, and recovery models.
• Proficiency in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Expertise with SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS).
• Strong command of T-SQL.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
• Knowledge of implementing operational automation using scripts.
• Understanding of indexes, index management, and statistics.
• Ability to research, define, interpret, and analyze complex technical database problems and recommend/implement solutions.
