Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
The program specialist will provide administrative support for the Muscular Dystrophy Translational Research Program. The program specialist will be responsible for providing overall program support, including scheduling, fiscal management, and human resources support. The program specialist will be required to be familiar with all aspects of the program in order to provide support for both the overall operations as well as day-to-day activities.
Minimum Hiring Standards
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a university or healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a composite set of skills including strong communication skills, strong organization skills, experience with office systems, demonstrated administrative and interpersonal management skills, and strong proofreading skills with acute attention to detail. Successful applicants will have strong initiative with good judgment, the ability to interpret policy, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters. Experience with software programs and databases, including MS Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases. This position requires a high degree of flexibility, confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact. Ability to work in a diverse environment is required.
Preferred Hiring Standards
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, health administration, or related field.
Experience with clinical research, academic medicine, and health sciences.
