Essential Job Duties

Hill Bookstacks Students play an essential role towards maintaining organization and accessibility of print and media collections at D. H. Hill Library. Primary duties include processing, sorting and re-shelving returned materials, retrieving requested materials from the stacks, and scanning requested selections from print materials. Some light lifting and pushing required. Other special projects as needed.

Work Schedule

Work schedule to be determined based on availability and the Bookstack's scheduling needs. Schedule will occur within the ranges of Monday - Friday: 9am-6pm, and Saturday - Sunday: 10am-5pm. Students can expect to work 8-15 hours per week.

Minimum Experience/Education

Current NCSU student with at least two semesters left before graduation. (Students graduating in or before December 2024 are not eligible.)

  • Able to follow instructions, procedures and department policies and adjust to changes
  • Able to manage time and accomplish assigned tasks with minimum supervision
  • Readiness to assist patrons in finding library materials
  • Dependable and punctual
