Summary of Position
The Director, Corporate Engagement reports to the Associate Vice President & Chief Business Development and Innovation Officer in active partnership with colleagues across the University, particularly the Senior Vice Provost for Research, Economic Engagement & Outreach. The Director will serve as a primary point of contact and engagement for New Hampshire, regional and out-of-state corporations interested in partnerships with UNH, and will work closely with UNH Advancement to coordinate relationships where business leaders are UNH donors.

- Bachelor’s degree and ten years of experience in building research relationships or other strategic university-industry partnerships.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate, foundation and organization community in state and region.
- Supervisory and organizational abilities, and the ability to lead an area through service to others and by example.
- Self-motivated & self-starting

Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Direct experience in a university corporate engagement position with identified successes in building partnerships with tangible results
- Experience working with intellectual property as a key part of a business relationship
- Understanding of the interplay between early-stage startups and corporate engagement

Duty/Responsibility
Work closely with the Associate Vice President & Chief Business Development and Innovation Officer to build meaningful relationships with research-focused, regional and (inter)national industry partners. This work requires effective and authentic working relationships and overseeing coordination functions with internal UNH partners, e.g., Deans and Associate Deans of Research, Career and Professional Success, senior university leadership, and Advancement.
Duty/Responsibility
Plan and coordinate campus events that promote interaction between corporations and the University, including those which promote entrepreneurship, supporting local startup companies, or creating relationships which improve the capacity for university technology to be commercialized by local partners. Provide effective coordination for campus visits by external organizations. Work may require cross-department engagement with the intellectual property/licensing team as well as the Peter T. Paul Entrepreneurship Center (ECenter) at UNHI to leverage these activities to enhance corporate engagement.
Duty/Responsibility
Perform a traditional business development function, working with key business executives to build, maintain, and improve relationships with UNH based on existing capacity, and identify areas of mutual interest that are potential areas for University growth, including serving as the primary point of contact for pursuit and oversight of select governments grants (eg, FOSTER). This includes presence at local and regional roundtables and representing the university to key partners.
