Postdoctoral Fellow
Oklahoma State University – Stillwater, Oklahoma

The Ferguson College of Agriculture at Oklahoma State University invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate.

Position Description
The Precision Nutrient Management Program was established in 2008. Since then, research has been performed in wheat, corn, sorghum, and forages. It is estimated at least 500 site years of data exists for winter wheat along. This data is fragmented across project files and thesis. The incumbent will be expected to curate this data, perform quality assurance on the data set. Perform analysis and interpretation of the data, then write peer review publications and extension materials. The individual will be expected to present the data at both scientific and extension meetings. The individual will also be expected to aid in the thesis/dissertation editorial process for students in the Soil Fertility and Precision Nutrient Management Programs.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Plant Science and Soil Science
  • Previous experience working in the lab and field
  • Knowledge of database management and statistical software
  • Knowledge of application and management soil fertility field research and agronomic production.
  • Attention to detail and strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to carry out lab protocols independently
  • Familiarity with soil chemical and biological analyses

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in working with agronomic databases
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Proficiency in writing for agronomic peer review journals
  • Knowledge of SAS and/or R
  • Knowledge of wet soil chemistry and plant mineral analysis

Employment Conditions
Postdoctoral appointments are made for a term of one year or less. Reappointment, for a total period of not more than three years, may be made. The position will be filled by May 31, 2024, or as soon thereafter as an acceptable applicant is available.
