Introduction to the job

The Data Governance Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and governance of Cymer Light Source data domains. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards. Data Governance Analysts need to gain a solid understanding of business context, goals, and challenges across the organization. Communicating effectively with stakeholders of all functions and levels is paramount, to translate needs into strategies and plans. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data management principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Role and responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess data quality across various systems and databases, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to enhance data accuracy and consistency in collaboration with Data Owner/Steward and IT
  • Establish and oversee data quality rules, definitions, and validation processes to maintain high standards of data accuracy and completeness
  • Aid in the cataloguing and curation of data assets, while building out metadata to ensure integrity
  • Develop practical and effective recommendations and actions plans for improving data protection and definition, controls and processes
  • Collaborate with data stewards and business units to identify and assign data ownership responsibilities, ensuring data is managed effectively and in alignment with business needs
  • Facilitate regular data stewardship meetings and workshops to educate stakeholders and address data governance-related concerns
  • Gather requirements, conduct data analysis, and support quantification of value proposition for Data Governance strategies
  • Define KPIs / metrics to measure the maturity of our Data Governance
  • Stay informed about relevant data protection and privacy regulations in collaboration with internal audit and legal
  • Collaborate with IT teams to oversee development and enforcement of data lifecycle management to govern creation, usage, and storage
  • Foster a culture of Data Governance awareness and accountability across the enterprise

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant domain
  • 3+ years previous experience in an analyst or business intelligence role

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and collaborative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and dashboarding tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and MSSQL.
  • Proficiency in Collibra, Denodo, and Spotfire preferred.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $90,750-$151,250. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
