Art Faculty

Labette Community College invites applications to occupy one (1) full-time Faculty position for our Art Department to begin in August 2024. This position is based at the main campus located in Parsons, KS.

The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline required to share in the teaching of post-secondary students. The faculty member will provide classroom instruction, advise art majors on class scheduling and academic progress; participate in curriculum revision; and complete program assessment.

The responsibilities also encompass serving on LCC committees, maintaining office hours, and other activities required or agreed upon between faculty members and administration as specified in the LCC Master Agreement and LCC Policy and Procedures Manual.

Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in the discipline (Fine and Studio Arts) or Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Ability to effectively work with faculty, students, and college staff. Ability to set priorities and use appropriate interpersonal skills, demonstrate knowledge of instructional software and education media, understand student learning and curriculum development, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include three (3) years of community college teaching experience.

Four (4) day instructional class schedules.
