POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Master Data Steward reports to the Senior Manager-Master Data Management
  • Located in Phoenix, AZ, San Diego, CA, or Irvine, CA
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid

The Master Data Steward plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing TriMark's data assets, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and consistent data across various domains. This role focuses on customer, supplier, and product master data, emphasizing completeness, accuracy, and adherence to data governance policies. The Master Data Steward will also actively contribute to data quality improvements and collaborate with the Data Center of Excellence (COE) in policy execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Change Management:
    • Create, review, and approve customer, supplier, and product master change requests, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Business Rules and Governance:
    • Support the setup of business rules for creating and maintaining master data in the Master Data Management (MDM) tool.
    • Manage data lineage and survivorship within a domain, ensuring governance standards are met.
  • Data Management:
    • Oversee data requests related to business processes, collaborating closely with Business and IT teams.
    • Conduct root-cause analysis of MDM discrepancies or data quality issues, implementing corrective actions.
    • Assist in building and implementing data quality checks to enhance overall data quality.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives for master data processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement efficiency enhancements in data management workflows.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Develop and conduct training sessions on master data best practices for end-users and relevant stakeholders.
    • Share expertise and insights with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to research and resolve data or process issues, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
  • Proven track record of collaborative work relationships, willingness to partner with others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated strong attention-to-detail in handling complex data management tasks.
  • Assess situations, determine data urgency and risks, and make clear decisions in the best interests of the business.
  • Understand and achieve data objectives from leadership and internal/external business partners through effective facilitation.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders to achieve desired data results.
  • Capability to manage data projects across multiple business units, data sources, and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 - 4 years of experience as a Data Steward, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Business Analyst, or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical).
  • Hands-on experience with Stibo, Reltio, Informatica, or MDM tools preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in SQL for data preparation and analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
