The Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) is conducting research and projects that deal with transportation systems and engineering (with a particular focus on rail and transit). Our research aims to develop and apply advanced technologies and managerial strategies to further improve transportation safety, efficiency and resiliency. We are currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in relation to these development efforts.
The successful candidate will report to Professor Xiang Liu and will work independently with clearly defined research objectives associated with projects related to data analytics, artificial intelligence, autonomous mobility, intelligent transportation systems and freight transportation and others.
The Postdoctoral Associate will take a leadership role and provide the support and management skills necessary to accomplish the goals of the programs. The Postdoctoral Associate will act as the primary investigator in the area of the use of data analytics, simulation, information technologies and operations research techniques to understand and improve transportation operational safety and efficiency.

The Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation is conducting research to develop durable, sustainable, resilient and smart transportation infrastructure. We are currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in these research areas.
The successful candidate will report to Dr. Hao Wang at CAIT and will work independently associated with different projects related to pavement engineering and possibly other transportation infrastructure (bridge, rail track, pipeline, etc.). The candidate is expected to perform both fundamental and applied researches and need publish research findings in journal and conferences. The candidate will also assist in the development and writing of research proposals for external funding.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
This position requires a PhD in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or related engineering fields. The candidate should have experience in one or more of the following areas 1) mechanistic pavement modeling, 2) smart infrastructure materials and technologies, 3) data analytics, and 4) non-destructive testing and structure health monitoring. the successful candidate must be self-motivated and can think broadly and conceptually and formulate creative, sophisticated solutions to complex problems, prioritize workload, and work independently with general supervision.
This position requires good communication and presentation skills, and strong proficiency in technical writing and editing. The individual will be expected to hold very high standards in how information is developed and presented. In addition, this position will require the ability to manage, document, and organize multiple simultaneous projects.
