Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Planning for instruction – on campus and online
  • Developing curriculum
  • Assessing student learning
  • Maintaining student records
  • Interacting positively with students and staff
  • Recruiting and retaining students
  • Maintaining professional skills and credentials
  • Assisting with departmental activities
  • Participating on college committees
  • Participating in professional development activities
  • Teaching courses in biology and psychology

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (must meet both by Fall Semester 2024):
Biology
    • Master’s degree with a major in biology or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in biology.
AND
Psychology
  • Master’s degree with a major in psychology
  • Master’s degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in psychology

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching college-level biology and psychology courses
  • Experience evaluating student performance in the classroom in accordance with college guidelines and curricula.
  • Experience creating and teaching online classes.
  • Teaching philosophy that supports a student-ready/growth mindset focused approach.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities.
  • Ability to work as a positive team member.

Other Requirements
NOTICE: In accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
