Overview:
The Postdoc Fellow will be involved with an NIH-sponsored innovative project on GPR75 in obesity-driven cardiovascular and metabolic complications. The postdoc will have the opportunity to enhance their research experience, become independent researchers, become known through publishing and presenting their results at professional meetings, and advance their careers by networking with colleagues.
Responsibilities:
The Postdoc Fellow at New York Medical College (NYMC) will be an integral member of the laboratory environment supporting medical research in important areas of focus including cancer, cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases, kidney disease, the neurosciences, disaster medicine, and vaccine development. This position may involve various responsibilities including but not limited to designing and performing experiments, documenting and analyzing results, writing and presenting research. This position will also supervise other members of the lab. The specific duties for the lab environment are highlighted below.

- Participate in the coordination of and conducting experiments involving the assessment of GPR75 and cell culture studies.
- Assist in analyzing and interpreting data, presenting, and publishing the results, as well as in the planning of future experiments.
- Oversee the participation of graduate students and laboratory staff with research experiments.
- Maintain logbooks, lab notebook and write lab reports.
- Participate in presentation of research data at scientific meetings.
- Other lab tasks as requested by the Supervisor
Education requirement:
- PhD Degree in a related field with 3+ years of related lab experience
Technical/computer skills:
- Utilization of Microsoft Office Suite, data programs
Prior experience:
- 3+ years related lab experience.
