Performs in-process or final inspection on materials, detail components, hardware, and assemblies to ensure product compliance to Customer and Company requirements. Inspects machined parts, components, assemblies and materials to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Military Standards, ASTM and ANSI, and ASME Codes).We are seeking an experienced Inspector II position to join our Chromalloy San Diego team.

The essential functions of this position are:

  • Performs in-process or final inspection on materials, detail components, hardware, and assemblies to ensure product compliance to Customer and regulatory requirements by using a variety of measuring equipment.
  • Sets up, operates, inspects, tests, and adjusts new and reworked tools, dies, gauges, jigs and fixtures for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Utilize inspection and test equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparator, ruler, meters, etc.) to verify products to specification.
  • Capable of performing the various visual and dimensional Inspections on the various part types.
  • Complete incoming inspection to ensure production is completing processes correctly as defined in the production work instructions.
  • Escalate unresolved issues and communicate product/process/documentation discrepancies.
  • Identifying Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma opportunities to support business goals.
Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

  • Engine Repair/ Inspection experience (LM2500, +, G4) preferred.
  • Good knowledge of aerospace manufacturing practices, procedures, inspection methodologies, and techniques in an AS9100 QMS environment. Certify visual acuity to standard, per regulations.
  • 3+ years of Inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Read and understand process documents and industry standards.
  • Team Player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Six Sigma experience preferred.
