The University of Notre Dame seeks a highly motivated individual with an understanding of federal research processes and a proven ability to leverage organizational skills to foster relationships. Specifically, this role will include working directly with federal research agencies to identify, categorize, and match funding opportunities with research topics at the University. The successful candidate will leverage relationships to assist in the overall growth of federally funded research. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, people, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Job resposibilities include:

- Foster relationships with Notre Dame faculty, staff, and administrators to understand, synthesize, and articulate research expertise and priorities to federal funding sources. Coordinate opportunities for Notre Dame researchers to travel to Washington, DC to attend informational seminars about different funding mechanisms and their processes.
- Collaborate with federal research agencies and funding sources located in Washington, DC to create linkages between funding priorities and faculty researchers at Notre Dame. Attend meetings with program officers at respective funding agency offices.
- Coordinate the creation of centralized resources (e.g., virtual and in-person trainings, written guides) to increase faculty knowledge of opportunities, application processes, and writing guidelines across various federally funded agencies. Support grant identification efforts and proactively articulate opportunities.
- Assist with the coordination of events and campus visits of federal officials.

*This position will be based out of Washington, DC. Ability to travel to and from Washington, DC, to South Bend, IN, is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience
Skills and Attributes:
- Exceptional communication skills
- Capacity to understand and communicate technical information to a variety of stakeholders
- Initiative and curiosity to learn about new areas of student related to engineering, science, health, and other related fields
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with federal agencies including the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, and National Institutes of Health is a plus!
